My impressions:
This scene immediately gives me a feeling of calm serenity as the grapes slowly grow their sweetness by the lovely pond amidst the muted Fall colors.
My friend Elaine’s impressions:
This pastoral scene reminiscent of Folk Art exudes a feeling of serenity. Imagine looking out your window as you drive along the busy highway, but when you see that scene you are transported from your busy life to a peaceful place to enjoy the sunshine on a pretty day, or dip your toes into a cooling pond. Stop the car and enjoy the simple quiet beauty.
The story behind creating the image:
I was hired to create a virtual tour of the Chandler Hill Vineyards in Defiance, Missouri. This involved creating 360 degree photographic images from a variety of locations in the facility. This pastoral image is cropped from one of those, which was taken from the beautiful patio at the rear of the restaurant. It was a lovely Fall day creating an image that I later used as a healing art print at the Anderson Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Center in Maryville, Illinois. If you examine it closely, you may notice that I have treated it to look at bit painterly rather than as a straight photo it gives it a “folk art” kind of feeling. I call this artifying the image.
