Seeing “outside the box”

Some ideas for training your eye/brain combination to see things you hadn't noticed before. This can be a real mood elevator.

The more I study the human brain and vision, the more I realize that “seeing” isn’t the innate capability that we usually assume it to be.  We can learn/teach ourselves to literally “see” things we used to miss.  I hope this brief article will inspire you to look at the world in fresh ways that make you go, “Oh, that’s cool!”.  The beauty of this, once you get the hang of it is that you can do it any time, any place, for any length of time and find things that amaze you.  That’s always fun.

Step 1:  Know that whatever you’re looking at contains amazing things, so look carefully & see if you can find them.

Step 2:  Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see them right away.  It will come with practice.

Step 3:  Rinse & repeat until you start to see truly amazing things all around you.  I’ve tried to attach some examples to get you started.  Some will be shots of the scene “unperceived” with others being what I saw in it that excited me.  You can do this – it’s great fun.

Step 4:  Once you get used to doing this visually as you look around your world, you’ll start to realize that the same process can work in your business.  What opportunities are all around you that you’re not noticing?  How can you improve every aspect of your business or your life by applying this principle of “seeing”.
